April MCE

Time for the Monthly Card Exchange. Aprils theme was Spring....flowers, birds, rain...anything spring. I was given the name of my own special Aunt V so I made her a flower bouquet. Each flower has three petal layer cut using a SU Die cut and a center that has yellow stickles on it. The pot was cut and folded. The ribbon holds it closed. The tag hanging is tied with a gold thin cord from SU. I think this would also make a great personalized place card for a party table...just put their name on the tag! The card I received back is made from a shybear stamp. It has it all...green leaves, birds, flowers...a real spring card. Sue even decorated the envelope, which a really nice touch. Supplies *SU Flower Die * SU Oval punches for tags *SU gold cord *Paperwishes paper *SeeD's Thanks Stamp *Michaels Ribbon *Yellow Stickles

Blue Wedding

Today was a day for just relaxing in my craft room. I wanted to do something different with this wedding dress stamp and since I love blue...that is the color I ran with! First I stamped the dress with black and colored the roses and part of the dress with cerulean blue. The bodice area and hem was colored with a small paint brush and ultra marine shimmerz. The leaves are hard to see but I colored them with apple green. Every line is outlined with light periwinkle blue. I cut the dress out and used my cuttlebug to emboss it. I used plain kids navy glitter glue with a small brush to paint the blue flowers since I do not have any navy stickles (that will definitely go on my shopping list). While that dried, I used my Nestability and Cuttlebug to cut out and emboss the background at the same time (my new favorite technique!!) for the dress. I wanted a wild kind of background so I chose paper called Vintered Vagabond from Zsiage.com. Behind that I used my Cuttlebug and Dotted A2 folder. After the dress dried, I used pop ups to lift the dress up off the background. Supplies *Markers: apple green, cerulean blue and light periwinkle *Zsiage Vintered Vagabond paper *Cuttlebug *Shimmerz Ultra Marine *Nestability Classic Oval *Cuttlebug A2 Textile Texture and Swiss Dot Folders *Dress stamp from IO Life of Happiness Set *Pearl Blings from Michael's

Sunset Fairy

This card was an experiment which I think turned out ok. I stamped and embossed the trees and fairy with clear embossing powder after coloring them with SU markers. Used a circle mask to make the moon while I used sponges to sponge the sunset. I used part of a stamp to make the whispy grass and sponged brown to make the ground. Supplies *All SU ink *Ribbon unknown *Cardstock unknown * Fairy Art Stamps: Natasha *Trees unknown

Flutter By Wednesday

I have missed doing many challenges lately so I decided to try to get this one done on time for Danni's Dream . This week the Flutter By Challenge for 4/1-4/8 is NO designer paper. It was easy for me as I tend to use a lot of plain cardstock. I even blew the dust off an old pair of decorative scissors that every one always seems to buy when they first Scrapbook! I pierced holes along the top and matted everything with green or purple to match the flower. The flower was stamped twice and one was cut out to make it 3-D. The top layer was colored with a purple gel pen. The butterflies were stamped and embossed with green and purple embossing powder. I used silver leafing pen for the edges. Another Easter card ready! Supplies: *IO Iris & Tulip Set: Flower Stamp *IO Easter Cross Set: Words and Butterfly Stamp *Cardstock unknown *Ribbon that was RAK'd to me *Krylon Silver Leafing Pen * Stampendous Embossing Powder green and purple
