3 Layer Window Christmas Card

The die set I used has 8 dies to create a multi-layered card.  I just used the inserts from the original set and included 2 dies from a set that goes along with the original.  I had some extra pieces of silver cardstock that worked perfectly.  I decided to add a piece of navy cardstock behind it so that the white and silver would show better.

Here is a close up of the 3 layers.

I counted and I am already up to 35 Christmas cards.  That is a great beginning to the year!

52 CCT March Technique Challenge

Good morning everyone.
If you are under quarantine, what a perfect time to make your Christmas Cards and get ahead of the card season!

Here is a window card to go with this weeks theme at 52CCT.
I hand cut the window and made the stain glass by coloring with markers on a piece of acetate.  I took a piece of tin foil and crumbled it up to put behind the acetate.  I actually made two and one of them I smoothed it out.  I was not pleased with the look when I laid the acetate statin glass against it.  The second one I did not flatten it out all the way and I liked the look of it better.   The acetate was glued down onto the tin foil by using my Xyron Creative Station Lite.  Liquid glue was placed along the black window and it was placed over the acetate.  Acetate was trimmed so it was the same at the black edge of the window.

I used Ranger Black Adhesive Foam to stick the window down onto the blue mat.

Here is a close up of what the tin foil looks like behind the acetate stained glass window.

Show us your window card over at 52CCT!

52 CCT March Sketch Challenge

Hello Crafters!
The beginning of each month always starts out at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenges with a Sketch. Since I missed a couple of the challenges, I will be a bit backwards for March as I get caught up.  Here is my version of the March sketch.

I watercolored this digital image by using Areza Watercolor Pens.  For the background I used tubes of watercolor paint.

Now I am on to the next challenge...the color challenge!

52 CCT March Theme Challenge

I have been away for over a month studying hard to get a different license.  At the same time, my father-in-law fell very ill and was in the hospital quite awhile.  He recently moved to a nursing home to continue to recoup.
1st -I am happy to say I passed and got my license!!  GO ME!!!  That was hard but I did it and it feels good.  2nd-I am also happy to report Dad is doing better!  He may even get to go home in a week!  So now that both are behind me I can go back to crafting.

I am starting out with a post that was due this morning and I am just getting it on.  It is Theme week at Christmas Card Throwdown and the theme is lights!  Here is my version.  I have not used this die for awhile and was happy to use it again.

The stamp Merry & Bright was one stamp but I wanted to use it separately.   Here is the trick...

Place a piece of Scotch tape over the area you do not want to stamp

Ink the image

Remove the tape

Stamp your image.  Only the portion you left untaped will stamp.  If you want to re-stamp over again, just repeat the steps above but when you use the same stamp to do the other word, make sure you wash it very well first.

That is it for now crafty folks!  I am off to do some catching up!  See you over at https://52cct.blogspot.com/2020/03/march-theme-challenge.html !
