It Moose Be Your Birthday!

My sister-in-law and I are both from the New England area.  We both LOVE moose so when I saw the Moose stamp in the Stampin Up "Walk In The Wild" Set...I had to have it.

We celebrated her 55th birthday last night and I gave her this card.

It's a moose so of course she loved it lol!

My first attempt at this card was not what I wanted so I had to do a redo.  I stamped the moose first and did not leave enough room for the reflection.  On my 2nd attempt I started out by stamping the reflection 1st to make sure I would be able to get the majority of the reflected moose on the card.

To make a reflection, stamp your image on a piece of acetate.  Be careful as it is very slippery so you have to stamp down and lift right up.  Turn your acetate upside down and place it on the cardstock where you want the reflection which is very easy to do as it is completely see through.  Without moving/shifting the acetate, press your fingers all around the image and lift straight up to remove it.  Because the acetate is slippery, the ink does not dry fast therefore the ink will stick to the cardstock.

After the reflection, I stamped the moose.  Both the reflection and moose was stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink.

The rest of the card was done with a circle punch for sun, sponge and ink.  I used Stampin Up Ink colors: basic black, barely banana, pumpkin pie, pacific point for the water and sky.  After I was done sponging on the ink for the water, I used a paint brush with some water and lightly wiped across a couple of areas.  The sky I just used the same sponge and lightly wiped across the sky without reinking.
Inside I stamped just the head of the moose in the corner and glued a piece of brown along the top.  The quote was found on the internet and printed out from Word.

Gender Reveal Baby Card

My Sister-in-law asked me last night if I could make her a gender reveal card for a gender reveal party.  I had to think on this one!  Never made a card before like this but I was up for the challenge.

The "babies" were made from circle punch and arrows cut from my cricut which were glued on.  It was hard to tie tiny bows so I just knotted the ribbon.  Pink for bows on top.  Blue for bow ties.

My husband helped me with the words on the inside
"Good luck to the fastest swimmer!"
