An Early Teacher Appreciation Day!

I have two great Daughter-in-Laws and both are teachers.  I wanted to make them a special card for Teachers Appreciation Day on May 3rd.
This image was a free image from a FaceBook group called The East Wind.  Sign up for the Newsletter and you can get a free digital image each month as well!

After coloring this image with my Twin Touch Markers, I colored the tree, sky and grass with Twinkling H2O's to give it a nice subtle twinkle.  Using a brush dipped into thicker twinkling H2O's and used part of the bristles I was able to make the grass stalks.  I love the quote that I found on a t-shirt that said "Teacher by day World's best mom at night".  I printed it out on vellum, placing one part wrapped around the front and the rest inside of the card.

One down and one more to go!

Happy Birthday Boss!

My boss's birthday was on Monday.  We always have a little birthday cake to celebrate the birthday at the office and everyone gives the birthday person a card. I was going to be away from the office on a mini-vacation so I made him a card and left it with a co-worker for him.

Here is the card I made for him.

We live near the Gulf of Mexico.  He loves to fish.  What a perfect combination for creating a card for him!  The fold technique I used for this card was called a Shadow Box Card.

Here is the inside when you open it.

Top views of the card.

The card is an A2 card which is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 closed.  As you can see in the photo it closes flat and slips right into an envelope.  A nice WOW card that is easy to mail to anyone!

This card was one I just made...no challenges to submit it too.  Just a fun card!
Thank you for stopping by...have a terrific crafty day!

Happy Valentines Day!!

All you need is Love....
but a little chocolate now and then never hurts!
I made some Valentines for my Grandchildren last weekend but wanted to wait and share today for Valentine's Day.  I needed 4 but had made 1 a couple of weeks ago.  So during the weekend I made 3 additional I needed.
They were all made with free digitals that I printed by using Microsoft Word to get the size I wanted.   The first digital was a free digital at Treasure Box Gems.  I used a Decoupage technique of laying on the image.   Two images were printed and colored.  On the 2nd image (see 2nd image of close up) I cut out just what I needed and used thin pop up to set exactly back over the correct area.  I used a Red  Zig Wing of Stella brush that gave the heart the perfect amount of glitter.  I was able to actually catch the glitter for once!

My grandson is big on dinosaurs right now so I found this image from a kids coloring book online.  I was able to insert it into Microsoft word to get the size I wanted.  He was colored with markers and cut out.  I used the same Wink of Stella red marker on the heart. To get the greenish sparkly on his back, I used a kleenex that was bunched up to make the edges very uneven and held it down with one hand over the bottom part of the dinosaur.  I sprayed the exposed image ...which included my fingers!...with a little bit of Glimmer Mist Green and then with a little of Glimmer Mist Blue.

Next image was another free image from kids coloring page online which I inserted on Microsoft Word, printed, colored and cut out.  This one I felt was perfect for my older Grandson with the jeans and sneakers.

For the two littlest grandkids, I put five $1 bills in each of their cards because little kids love to count or see "more".  It's more fun to open a card like that than a card with a $5 bill in it.  That is what the two oldest grandkids got...the $5 bill.

The mail arrived faster than I thought as I mailed it off on Tues thinking it would arrive on Saturday but actually was received Friday.

Have a wonderful Valentine's Crafty Day!

Shimmer Birthday Card

I entered this card into a Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge...Add a Sentiment!

Here is the card I created.

This card used left over paper I had sprayed glimmer mist on.  The background die is a Topdog Die.  The middle is a Tattered Lace die and the center white flower is Nestability die.  After you cut it out, you tuck the pieces in under the next slot.  The Happy Birthday is Sizzix thinlits.  No stamping on this card!

Get Well Wishes

Danni's Dreams puts out a couple challenges a month.  February challenge is Get Well and  Tags.
I am glad Get Well was in the challenge as I am sadly lacking get well cards in my stash.  My count in my stash was zero!   Now it has one...

Entered this card only into Danni's dreams.

Gilded Christmas Angel

I am feeling pretty good right now.  I signed up with a lot challenges to give me the incentive to keep my cardmaking going.  I am happy to say that I created about 30 cards in the month of Jan!  So you are asking, where are they all?  Why didn't I share them yet?  Hey!  I am working on it! lol  One step at a time..

I just finished my 2nd challenge for February.  This challenge is from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  Every Friday they come out with a new challenge.  This one is called Stash Challenge-foils/gilding.

Feather and Negative Space Scene

Another sympathy card done.

I used a die called Feathers on the Wind by Spellbinders to cut a negative space in the white cardstock.  The piece I cut out and one other feather was sprayed with blue Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.  While that was drying I also sprayed a mat with same color and along the edge of the negative space background.

One of the stamps from Crafter's Companion Luscious Landscapes, was stamped on a piece of white cardstock.  I just swiped with sponge across the image with Stampin Up ink colors So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise.  I glued the part of the scene that I wanted behind the negative space and cut the rest off.  Everything was glued down together.

Thank you for stopping by!  I am off to create some more!  Have a good crafty day.
