Christmas Up Up and Away

I work in an office and I have the BEST boss.  We all love him.  At Christmas we want to get him the #1 gift but every year it is hard to figure out what to get him.  Every once in a while someone comes up with an awesome idea.  This year, I think, was one of those times.  In October 2019, he is planning to go to the big Balloon  Festival in New Mexico so one of my co-workers came up with the idea to get him a gift card to pay for his flight!

The paper I used on this card is from Reminisce Snowflake Ridge paper set.  Oh my gosh...I have to tell you that paper is Gorgeous!   I remember the day when I use to hoard paper/cardstock but I asked myself why?  So... not anymore.   The dies I used on the front is the Sizzix Tim Holtz Merry Moose die set. Isn't it the cutest!  I just had to have it and was worth waiting 3 weeks while it was on backorder.  I made one extra page to the card and placed it before the balloon page so everyone had enough room to write a message to our boss.

I wanted to make a card that would go along with the balloon festival that we all could sign.  I had his emoji he created on his phone and I printed it out to put him in the balloon.  I also found a black and white line image of a balloon.  Once I had that, I was off and running with no real idea of what to do.  Created as I went. You can see in the third photo, the balloon popped up when you opened the card.  I will admit, the cardstock cracked where it bent for the popup but I fixed it by gluing a white piece of cardstock on the inside where no one could see it to make it more stable.  It worked perfectly.

So without further ado.....

Spring is in the Air

Nothing like a Birthday card with butterflies and flowers to say Spring in the air!

This is another card where I used a piece of the Strathmore Chromolux Mirri Sheets to cut the flowers out and colored with Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Ink.  I used a technique from Crafts on the Run blog to glue the die cut into the negative image cut from the background.  She recommends embossing the background and then cut the image out of it so that is what I did.   A little bit of stickles on the butterfly wings and on celebrate finished off the card.  The word celebrate is from the Sizzix Tim Holtz thinlit set Script Celebration Words.

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Thank you for checking out my creation!

Vellum Christmas Tree

A few weeks ago I had a few women over to craft.  They had asked me to show them how I made my Christmas tree pop up using vellum and a stylus tool.

I set up my craft room onto the lanai so there was enough room for us.  With Christmas music playing in the background we all created this card, with me walking them through step by step.
We had a lot of fun!
Here is the basic card we created.  I loved seeing everyone's versions of my card.

Hope this inspires you to give this vellum and stylus technique a try!.
Have a great crafting day.

Sunny Birthday

It's a sunny day and beautiful day here in Florida.  The weather has been just perfect.  Pool is open.  I forget there are some who are still battling with snow falls and cold weather.  It's nice to live in paradise!

When the sun shines everyone feels good so I brought a little sunshine to this birthday card.

I used Tim Holtz stencil and sponged the rays for the outside of the A2 card.  I used a bit heavier ink and lightening it up as I reached the top of the rays.  After sponging on the rays, I left the stencil taped in position so I could sponge on tiny amount of yellow along the bottom to make it look like the sun coming up over water.  After that I sponged on some blue on both sides of the cardstock, leaving space in the middle to be able to stamp the word Happy.  The word Birthday was stamped inside with lighter yellow rays.

I like my fun happy card!

Hope you have a beautiful sunny day...even if the air is cold outside!

SBR-Us Challenge 56-Have a Bird

Have you seen the new Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp set called Crazy Birds? Oh My Gosh!  I am so in love with this set!  I just had to have them and after searching for a month I finally found a company who had them in stock (stores are having trouble keeping them in stock).  Most bird stamps are small but these 6 birds are on the large size and perfect for me.  I have so many ideas in my head!
Here are a couple of cards I did with them over the weekend.  I got the idea for one of them on the net and I wish I had kept the link.  If anyone knows who it is please let me know so I can link your image for my inspiration!

thanks for stopping!

Very busy Christmas Time!

I have been absent but not idle!  Not only was I busy trying to get ready for Christmas and finish my Christmas cards but I also had to get ready for a two week vacation!

Now that is behind me and I am now on vacation, I thought I would just take a few minutes to post some of the cards I had been working on!
